MYTH 1: Pillar Candles and Votives Can be Made With Pure Soy Wax

MYTH 11: Candle Soot Can Be Harmful

TRUE. There is a small amount of soot produced by the candle, which is a byproduct of incomplete combustion and is hazardous to health if there is a lot of soot in a room with no ventilation. The best thing to do for reducing soot is trimming the wick to ¼ inch before burning candles.
